Andrew Garfield on the fate of the rhinoceros battle in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

Andrew Garfield discussed the fate of the ending Rhino battle in The Amazing Spider Man 2.

Back in 2014, The Amazing Spider Man 2 hit theaters and received a mixed reception from critics and fans alike. Andrew Garfield, who played the titular webhead, was last seen as the iconic superhero when he took on The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) in the film’s closing action set. The film left the fate of the duel ambiguous, and for at least seven years fans had no idea what happened after the fight.

Due to the underperformance of The Amazing Spider Man 2, Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker was retired and Tom Holland took over for the rebooted version of the character set in the canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sony has finally abandoned their planned shared universe The Amazing Spider-Man movies that a Sinister Six film that may have featured The Rhino. Several years later, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire would get the chance to return to their roles in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In a recent appearance on In the air with Ryan Seacrest, Andrew Garfield talked about the cliffhanger ending of the 2014 movieteasing what may have happened between Peter Parker and The Rhino:

“If I remember correctly, what happened next was inappropriate…because it was so brutal. I have no idea. That’s where the script ended, and that’s where our movie ended. So you get to choose your own adventure with that one. What would you have liked to see happen?”

During the great climax of the battle of Spider-Man: No Way Home, we get a glimpse of what appears to be the rhinoceros in the sky as Doctor Strange tried to keep reality alive after the dangerous spell he performed to help Peter Parker (Tom Holland). Whether we’ll see Rhino again in the future remains unknown, but it would be nice to see him in the future, several years after the events of The Amazing Spider Man 2

Andrew Garfield reprized his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Here’s the summary:

For the first time in Spider-Man cinematic history, the identity of our friendly neighborhood hero is revealed, putting his Superhero responsibilities in conflict with his normal life and endangering those he cares about most. When he enlists the help of Doctor Strange to recover his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, unleashing the most powerful villains ever to battle a Spider-Man in a universe. Now Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will forever change not only his own future, but also the future of the Multiverse.
