Brendan Fraser’s Firefly Mask Revealed in New ‘Batgirl’ Set Photos

2022 may be the most exciting year to be a fan of DC Comics movies. To kick off the year we had The Suicide Squad spin-off sequel series peacekeeper on HBO Max, which received widespread acclaim. A few weeks after the first season finale, we got the highly anticipated theatrical premiere of the batter, which has also received much critical acclaim. Now fans are looking forward to the new releases that will hit both theaters and exclusively on HBO Max. One of those projects is none other than batgirl, with Brendan Fraser as the antagonist Firefly.

In his second collaboration in the world of DC Comics after doom patrol, Brendan Fraser’s Firefly will take on Leslie Grace’s titular Batgirl, set in the ongoing continuity of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). We’ve previously glimpsed what Brendan Fraser’s Firefly will look like, and a selection of new set photos give us our best look at his mask yet.

While the public will visit Matt Reeves’ new take on Gotham City with The Batman, Batgirl will transport audiences back to the version of the iconic city as seen in the ongoing DCEU. However, it looks like we’ll be seeing Michael Keaton’s version of the Caped Crusader in this movie rather than Ben Affleck’s teasing the events of the upcoming new DCEU movie, The flash. Either way, it will be exciting to see Firefly come to life in the film.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah directing batgirl, which is slated to be a movie for the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The two most recently directed the blockbuster hit of 2020 Bad boys for life and episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series Mrs. Marvel† Christina Hodson, the screenwriter behind Birds of prey and The flashwrote the script for the DCEU movie.

DCs batgirl The film is set to follow the Barbara Gordon iteration of Gotham City’s heroine. JK Simmons also stars as Commissioner Gordon, Brendan Fraser will appear as the villain Firefly, and Michael Keaton will return as his version of Batman.
