Ewan McGregor Returns as ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ in First Look

The first look at Ewan McGregor’s return as Star Wars hero Obi-Wan Kenobi has been revealed.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is back and looking better than ever. Ewan McGregor is ready to step back in the Star Wars franchise later this year with Obi-Wan Kenobi, a show based on the later years of the star Jedi master as he watches over a young Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. While there are few details about the series, the Star Wars character is expected to reprise it with his Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker after their final battle left the Tatooine native scorched and in pretty bad shape.

With the series debuting in the last week of May, Lucasfilm and Entertainment Weekly have teamed up to release a brand new batch of images from the latest Star Wars series. But first a breathtaking cover that sees Ewan McGregor with a lightsaber since 2005 Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith

After the impressive cover, we have four stills from the series showing a solemn Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Every Jedi master needs an enemy, as the next set of photos focuses on Moses Ingram’s Inquisitor, who can be seen interrogating Owen Lars, Luke Skywalker’s uncle and guard.

Lucasfilm describes the Star Wars story as a special event series for Disney Plus, and there aren’t many details about the upcoming one Star Wars series at the moment. However, we do know that ten years later the series will feature a rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader Revenge of the Sith and for their final confrontation in A new hope

Directed by Deborah Chow from the scripts by Joby Harold, stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. The series will also see the return of legendary Star Wars composer John Williams, who scored a theme.
