See Jamie Dornan replace Henry Cavill as Superman in new image

Jamie Dornan takes on the role of Henry Cavill as Superman in this new concept design.

While the public is currently enamored with Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s new version of the batter, Superman fans continue to hunger for a new film that focuses on the iconic hero. The last standalone outing for the iconic character was in 2013 Man of Steel, and the last time we saw Henry Cavill don the suit was in Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021. Since then, Henry Cavill’s Superman’s future has remained in question, especially with the lack of anything concrete about future films and some speculating that he will be replaced. In this concept design, we see what actor Jamie Dornan might look like as his replacement.

Jamie Dornan has received widespread acclaim for his performance in Kenneth Branagh’s Academy Award-nominated film belfast. He also stands out for his role as Christian Gray in the much-maligned film fifty shades Trilogy. Despite his role in those films, he has proven to be a more than capable performer, with some seeing him as a strong contender for major franchises like Superman.

In this particular concept design depicting Jamie Dornan as the man of steel, we see him in an alternate costume design that artist on Instagram envisions him as being implemented in Matt Reeves’ the batter universe. You can check out Jamie Dornan’s concept design as Superman below:

While the prospect of Jamie Dornan taking on the superhero role may be interesting, DC fans will likely prefer Henry Cavill return as Superman on the big screen rather than being recast. A Black Superman film project is in development by producer JJ Abrams and writer Ta-Nahesi Coates, but as of this writing, no new developments have been made public since then. Henry Cavill has acknowledged that several Superman iterations can co-exist, so maybe Jamie Dornan can play a different take on the character alongside him.

Henry Cavill last appeared as Superman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here’s the summary:

“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure that Superman’s (Henry Cavill)’s ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) joins forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) to plan a team of recruit metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task turns out to be more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own past to transcend what held them back, allowing them to come together and eventually form an unprecedented class of heroes. Now that they’re united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid and their terrible intentions.”

The Snyder Cut stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, JK Simmons and Ciarán Hinds.

Both versions of Justice League are available on HBO Max. Stay tuned for all the latest on Henry Cavill’s future as Superman in the DCEU, as well as some potential new projects starring Jamie Dornan, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content .
