Lizzo’s Shapewear Yitty launches April 12 and includes sizes 6x to Xs

Three-time Grammy winner Lizzo is the latest celebrity to launch her own brand to the masses. Her Yitty brand is an all size shapewear line designed with all body types in mind. Size XS to 6X will be available from Yitty. The brand is all set to launch on April 12 at noon EST.

Initially, the brand will offer three drops. It includes Nearly Naked, Mesh Me and Major Label. There will be a variety of choices in patterns, prints and shapes for people of all shapes and sizes. The colorways will have names like Moody Bitch Taupe and Tempo Lavender, which is very on-brand for Lizzo.

More than 65% of the shapewear is made from recycled materials and is packaged in 100% recyclable materials.

The brand has been around for more than five years. It is named after Lizzo’s childhood nickname. Speaking of her brand, 33-year-old Lizzo said, “Instead of thinking about size in this linear way, we’re doing it on a spectrum that includes everyone.” She also added: “Everyone has their size. It’s not high, it’s not low. It’s not big, it’s not small. It’s just your size”.

Lizzo felt, she wasn’t good enough

Lizzo was tired of seeing restrictive shapewear that was uncomfortable and that no one actually wanted to wear. She decided to do something about it and came up with Yitty, a brand that Lizzo believes will empower women to feel “unashamedly good” about themselves.

While Lizzo is the face of the brand, Fabletics co-founder Don Ressler also lends his expertise to the brand. The Yitty brand is launched in partnership with Fabletics, Inc.

Speaking of the brand, Lizzo said it meant a lot to her personally. “I felt like I was constantly being told through TV and magazines that my body wasn’t good enough. And to be considered “acceptable” I had to inflict some sort of pain on it to fit into an archetype of beauty,” she said she started wearing corrective underwear when she was in grade 5.e

Fans are looking forward to the launch

The feeling of not being able to fit in because of having a different body is something many people can relate to. When Lizzo launched Yitty on Instagram, it got nearly half a million likes and over 4,018 comments in 16 hours.

Fans were clearly excited when one of them said, “The subtle beauty of 6x-xs gives me life!”. Another excited fan said “Yass! Take all my money”.

Other celebrities have also launched their brands. While some celebrities opt for skincare like Kylie Jenner’s Kylie cosmetics, other celebrities like Kim Kardashian have her own shapewear line called Skims. Skincare and shapewear are some of the most popular choices when it comes to celebrities launching their brands.
