A chart posted to Twitter by AMD’s Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions and Marketing, Frank Azoraclaims that AMD’s latest graphics cards offer the best performance for the money compared to Nvidia’s latest Ampere graphics cards.
The chart lists nearly every model from both the RX 6000 line and the RTX 3000 series, except for the newly released RX 6x50XT series and RTX 3090 Ti. According to the chart, the Radeon RX 6950XT offers 80% better performance per dollar and requires 15W less power than the GeForce RTX 3090. However, we have not been able to verify those claims ourselves.
While those prices can fluctuate, it’s certainly a good way to see how the current market favors Team Red’s products over Team Green, at least price-wise, especially considering the high prices for graphics cards in general.
Analysis: What else does AMD offer?
In addition to claiming that AMD’s graphics cards are more bang for your buck, the company also announced a beta version of its new graphics driver for its Radeon line. It seems to offer some impressive benefits for some games, including World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, which runs up to 30% faster, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which sees a 28% increase. These aren’t the latest and greatest though, so take the claims of improved performance with a grain of salt.
This graphics driver includes version 1.1 of Radeon Super Resolution (Team Red’s supersampling framerate booster), as well as Smart Access Memory (SAM) optimizations implemented for Death Stranding and Watch Dogs: Legion.
