Apple’s new iPhone SE is a top option if you want a phone that you can keep for years. It’s a quality piece of hardware, Apple’s long-standing support is second to none. And if you’re buying an iPhone SE, you’ve probably already decided that you won’t get carried away by bigger screens begging to fill your pocket.
It’s a long-term partner, which makes protecting your iPhone SE all the more important.
Spigen’s line of cases made specifically for the iPhone SE should be your first stop, and you can already get some of the brand’s most beloved lines custom made for the SE.
The Tough Armor is the real fan favorite in Spigen’s lineup. It offers serious military-grade protection without adding bulk to the iPhone SE 2022. Since you’re buying one of these phones so that it fits easily in any pocket, this is pretty important.
The three-layer construction makes this possible. Spigen’s Tough Armor uses a hard polycarbonate backplate, flexible TPU sides and large but thin layers of shock absorbing material on the inside of the backplate.
You get excellent protection against drops and scratches, while the raised camera screen keeps the lens glass safe. A nice extra to the Spigen Tough Armor is the fold-out kickstand at the back. It’s perfect for letting you read a recipe while cooking, without having to answer the phone with caked hands.
However, the Spigen Tough Armor is not for everyone. Check out the Spigen Ultra Hybrid if you prefer a case that allows an iPhone SE 2022 to retain its signature look.
The back plate is transparent. And the bumpers can be transparent, black or red: you choose. Choose the fully transparent model and the case seems “barely present”, but the level of protection it offers is still there and correct.
Like the Tough Armor, the Ultra Hybrid’s back plate is made of hard polycarbonate, while the sides are made of flexible TPU for excellent impact resistance and an easier fit. There is also more going on in the corners. Spigen has carved air-cushion bags, which absorb the impact force for even better protection against drops.
Cool Style: Spigen Ultra Hybrid Frost
The Spigen Ultra Hybrid Frost is slightly newer and more exciting.
It takes the core design principles of the standard Ultra Hybrid, including the rigid polycarbonate back, flexible TPU sides and air-cushion technology, but puts a stylish spin on it. Spigen swaps a transparent backing for a matte, matte one.
This has some nice effects. The matte finish scatters reflected light so you can see the Apple logo and color finish of your iPhone SE, but through a translucent lens.
The appearance is softened, as is the polycarbonate back. The matte finish feels softer, which is worth a few tactility bonus points.
A new twist on an old favorite, this could be a popular choice for the iPhone SE and will be available in the coming days.
What do all the cases discussed so far have in common? They all use a hard back and softer sides. The Spigen Liquid Air goes against the trend.
This is a housing of pure thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which makes it flexible. TPU also ensures that the Truss pattern is etched into the back, which gives the Liquid Air a distinctive look and extra grip.
Why choose the liquid air? It’s an exceptionally slim case, which should appeal if the iPhone SE 2022’s small size were number one in the first place.
And while the one-piece design may sound simple, this is a carefully crafted case. Air cushions in the corners provide great drop resistance, not normally seen in a “barely there” flexible housing.
Extra strength and protection
Suitcases are just part of the Spigen range. For complete protection of the iPhone SE 2022, we also recommend a screen protector.
Mounting one of these can be a tricky job, but Spigen’s AlignMaster makes it easy. An alignment frame is included in the box, so even beginners will do just fine with no fuss. The screen protector itself is ultra-hard scratch-resistant 9H tempered glass and has an oleophobic coating that destroys fingerprints.
Then there’s Spigen’s ArcStation charger. It’s a snappy 27W adapter that charges your iPhone SE at full speed and does the same job for all other gadgets that use the USB PD standard.
The Intelligent Safety smarts provide protection against overcharging, so your battery stays healthy for longer. And, best of all, the ArcStation Pro is slim – a full 48% smaller than Apple’s own 20W charger.
Do you prefer to go wireless? The 15W Spigen ArcField pad charges your iPhone at 7.5W and also supports AirPods with wireless charging. The non-slip rubber-like surface helps prevent accidents, and it works with all the aforementioned Spigen cases.
Why stop at the iPhone SE? Spigen also makes neat accessories for Apple tablets, watches and earphones.
A Spigen Thin Fit for Apple Watch protects the housing of your smartwatch and adds virtually no extra weight or bulk.
The Spigen Tough Armor case for the AirPods 3 does the same job for your earphones, and if you’re looking for a visual punch, the Metallic Gold version looks like something Iron Man would keep in his back pocket.
Do you own an iPad? Several Spigen top case lines are also available for Apple tablets. The stand of the Touch Armor Pro comes into its own in combination with a tablet, and you even get a slot to store your Apple Pencil.
These are just a few choices from the wider Spigen range. Discover the full lineup in the official Spigen UK Store.
