Amazon has introduced a new invite-only system for its PS5 add-on – one that should finally give you a better chance of buying the PS5 from the mega-retailer if all your previous attempts have failed. In fact, you don’t even need to be an Amazon Prime member to register your details.
All you need to do to sign up is head over to the PS5 store page on Amazon (opens in new tab)† Log into your account and then you’ll see the option to request an invite where you’ll usually find the Add to Cart button.
Hit that and Amazon will email you an exclusive link to buy the PS5 the next time the console is in stock. However, keep in mind that the link is only active for 72 hours and does not guarantee you a console as they cannot fulfill all requests. We fully expect the PS5 to sell out very early in that time frame, so you’ll need to act quickly if you get the warning. In any case, it’s much better than the randomly timed free for everyone that Amazon usually holds every few months for the PS5.

Registration is currently only open for the standard PS5 console and it’s unclear if it will be added for the PS5 Digital Edition. However, Amazon has said it will also add the option to sign up for alerts for its Xbox Series X addition soon. Microsoft’s console isn’t as sought after as the PS5, but getting one is still a challenge.
The new PS5 replenishment system at Amazon is very similar to the one implemented by Sony’s own PlayStation Direct store, which asks potential buyers to register their details for the chance to buy a PS5 console when it comes next. times in stock. If you haven’t already got your name on it, here’s how to sign up for PS5 notifications on PlayStation Direct.
